Greenstones is located on the island of Flatön in the province of Bohuslän on the west coast of Sweden. Flatön is 90 km north of Göteborg (Gothenburg), which is Sweden's second largest city. From Göteborg to Greenstones it is just over an hour by car and about 90 minutes by train / bus.

By Public Transport

From within Sweden

To reach us by public transport you'll need take a bus to our nearest bus stop, which is called Prästgårdsvägen, Uddevalla.

Public transport in our area is provided by Västtrafik. Their web site is available in English. Search for "Prästgårdsvägen Uddevalla". The bus is 841 and takes 1h and 37min.

If you would like us to collect you, you will need to call us at least 2 hours in advance of your arrival so that we can take the ferry to come get you.

From abroad

There are air, train and bus connections to Göteborg (Gothenburg) with direct flights from many major cities in Europe.

Getting to Göteborg by bus

There are buses from most major European cities. Swebus can be quite inexpensive if booked in advance.

Getting to Göteborg by air

The airport in Göteborg is called Landvetter. The airport coach takes around 30 minutes from the airport to Göteborg Central Station.

There are daily direct flights from most major European cities including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin and Munich.

By car

1) Drive to the ferry to Flatön

From the south

Take the E6 to Stenungsund. The exit is signposted Orust Tjörn. Follow the 160 to Varekil and turn left to Ellös. The ferry to Flatön is signposted from Ellös on Orust.

From the north

From Uddevalla take the 161 towards Lysekil. After about 18km turn left at the sign for Fiskebäckskil. After 4 km turn left at the sign for the ferry to Flatön.

2) Take the ferry

There are two car ferries to Flatön, one from the north end of the island and one from the south end. They cross every 20 minutes during the day and every half hour at night. The ferry is free of charge.

3) Drive to Road 31

Drive off the ferry and after about 3.7 km turn onto the gravel road marked "31" (signposted Nordmarken / Greenstones).

Please drive very slowly on the gravel road (20 km max). We are the last yellow house on the right, 700m in from the main road. There is parking at the bottom of the hill.
